First International Conference, Hilton Metropole

To deliver a three day medical conference at London’s Hilton Metropole including plenary sessions and breakout workshops; filming and live relay of medical procedures; branding of conference suite and reception area to include the installation of an LED wall displaying conference information; creation of the opening video; management of all presentations on stage; development of an event app; and installation of a pop-up, walled café zone with a full IT suite. For evening entertainment, theming of buffet-style dinner as well as a closing gala dinner at Battersea Evolution.

One thousand practitioners in aesthetic and reconstructive medicine from 32 countries attended Allergan’s progressive learning forum held in the Hilton’s King’s Suite. Guests arrived via the West Wing reception area where conference branding had been applied using vinyls, banners and projection. Translation facilities were available and breakout sessions were organised by geographic region, allowing best practices to be shared within similar cultures. Metro Broadcast was able to create regional ‘zones’ using projection of iconic landmarks and guests were seated for the plenary sessions by zones created using coloured lighting.

The entire installation was to take place over three days prior to the event and included installing the branding, lighting (including truss), staging, presentation equipment, sound and film equipment including a portable production unit for live vision mixing. The theme was international and Metro paid close attention to detail when designing the evening setting which featured a Borough Market-style theme with international food served from street-style ‘vendors’. Lighting, projection and props were used to transform the conference room into a buzzing market scene.
